Description
Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (MWL) is one of the largest and most respected NHS organisations in Cheshire and Merseyside, formed in July 2023 through the integration of St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trusts. Rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, we are dedicated to delivering our “Five-Star Patient Care” to every individual we serve across acute, community, and primary healthcare services. With a workforce of around 11,000 who embody our supportive and inclusive culture; we operate from 21 locations, proudly serving a diverse population of over 600,000, while providing specialist regional services to more than 4 million people. We have an annual income exceeding £1 billion.
At a time of significant transformation in the NHS, we are seeking a new Director of Corporate Services to join our Executive team and provide strategic leadership and expert advice on all aspects of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and Board assurance. You will guide and enable our leadership teams as we play a key role locally, regionally and nationally in shaping the future of integrated health and care services. Working closely with our Chief Executive, Rob Cooper and Chair, Steve Rumbelow, you will join an ambitious Trust and Board; recognised nationally for our leadership, high performance and collaboration; now well positioned to deliver the aims of Fit for the Future the 10 Year Health Plan for the NHS in England.
We are seeking an exceptional and inspiring leader with a credible track record of developing and delivering strong governance frameworks in large, complex, regulated environments. Driven by our mission to integrate and enhance healthcare services, you will be adept in working with a wide range of stakeholders to shape robust governance structures that underpin transformational change. This is a rare and significant senior leadership role in our Trust and beyond the core Board Secretary remit, there is the opportunity to build a wider portfolio that aligns to your ambitions and skills. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in a highly successful organisation and shape the future of healthcare provision for the populations we proudly serve.
